The ‘Surplus extension’ however takes this one step further and just embeds your Google+ notifications directly into your browser so you can now handle notifications from anywhere.  Not only that, you can also update your status on Google+ and share links to your networks with one click as well.

2. How to reply directly to the original person who shared content on Google+

Another awesome feature of Google+ is that if you reshare a post, it still gives credit to the person who originally shared it.  What the ‘Replies and more Extension’ does is it augments the reply options of Google+ so you’re able to reply the source directly, which is good if you’re trying to provide encouragement or feedback.

3. How to de-clutter your comment stream on Google+

The +Comment toggle extension is a lifesaver when it comes to quickly scanning your Google+ stream.  What it does is it rolls up comments and only displays them when you want to have a look at them.  This means less scrolling, and it becomes much easier to quickly find and interact with content you’re interested in.

Another one of Google+’s awesome features is that it supports real-time live updates without having to refresh your browser.  So, technically you could just keep your Google+ running in a background tab.  What you don’t want however, is to keep checking it unless you know you have a notification waiting for you.  The G+ Count extension displays the notification count on your tab so you can always stay on top of things.

It’s early days in Google+, so you may choose to share some of that great content you’re reading on your stream to twitter.
The ‘Helper for Google+’ extension allows you to share a post on your stream on Twitter directly from Google+, but bear in mind that it shares the Google+ link, not the content link.  Which is also good in a way, because it encourages other people to add you to their Google+ circles.  It also comes with a button to translate any foreign languages on Google+ as well.

How to create an empty status in Facebook

Facebook does not allow a user to post empty status updates. This was correct, until now.
As we know, Facebook only allow us to fill in status update at least 1 character . But it's not a problem. There is a way how to create an empty status in Facebook.

How To :

• Login to your Facebook account.
• Click the text box where you are supposed to type your status update and type :
@[2:2: ]
• Now click Post. 

Now you status has empty.
Voila!

Publishing to Twitter from Facebook Pages

Many people have asked us to make Facebook and Twitter work better together for those times when they want to share their content as widely as possible. We agree. Over the next few days, we will be releasing a feature that allows administrators of Facebook Pages to publish their Facebook updates to their Twitter accounts automatically. This will only link Facebook Pages to Twitter, not your individual profile.

Public figures, musicians, businesses and organizations of all types who've created Facebook Pages often want to share a status update, a photo or an event with as many of their supporters as possible. Celebrities may want to share personal news or charities may want to put out calls for help to both their Facebook fans and their Twitter followers, all at the same time.

When an unknown person sends you a friend request, you should either accept it or reject it. When you ignore a friend request and put it in a pending status, that person is likely to get few of your updates if he had any mutual friend. Let me tell you how?.Few things are available only to your friends and few for your friends and networks, which means to the people having mutual friends.
For example: if the things you post- like status, wall photos, links, videos have the setting ‘Friends and Network’, then the person who sent you a request will get updates from you. Moreover Facebook is cunning, it will show your new relations on his wall like this

#Your Facebook account login information can be tracked

Lets say i have a lot of people who are jealous of my Facebook girl friends and they are tracking me 24*7 to know my password and hack my account. So I should stay more cautious then normal. But I’m least bothered about it because when ever someone logs into my Facebook Account other than my computer/laptop i would get a message to my mobile saying that “XXXXX” has logged into you Facebook account. Where “XXXXX” is the name of the computer from which the account is accessed. You can also activate this setting from these steps

• Account-> Account Setting -> Account Security-change
• Under the Login Notification check the option ‘Send me a message’ and ‘Send
• me an Email’ and save the settings

Ok now i get the notification on my mobile about the login information, what steps can i take to prevent his/her current login session? Facebook gives an option of Remote Log Out. Follow these steps

• Account-> Account Setting -> Account Security-change
• Under the account activity you would find a section called “Also Active” which shows the all other sessions that are currently active.
• You can click the End Activity of the SYSTEM which was mentioned your mobile message notification and the unknown persons session would get expired and he will be logged out automatically

#You Friend list can be hidden

Its a common curiosity to explore others friends list and see who are there in it. But sometimes it is disgusting when others explore your friends list. So here is one way to stop that. You can hide your friend list from your friends too or you can make it visible to particular customized list. Follow these steps

• Account->Privacy Setting
• Under the connecting to Facebook heading click the ‘View Settings’

While searching, if you are not sure about which keyword to be placed in the phrase, you can match any single word using *.

How to Back Up Your Facebook Account

With the growth of Facebook, now almost every person who has access to internet wants to use this great social networking website. With over 800 Million users, Facebook has made it a place where a lot of sharing would happen. Photos, personal info, etc. With the hacking attacks increasing day by day, your account and your details may be in danger. Every day thousands of Facebook account are hacked or compromised and losing your complete Facebook timeline is a nightmare for anyone who is addicted to Facebook.

Step by step guide to back up Facebook Account:

1. Log on to your Facebook account.

2. Click on the arrow on the top right and click on “Account Settings”.

3. Now scroll to the end of the page and click on “Download a copy of your Facebook data”.

4. Click on “Start My Archive”.

Now, you will have to give some time to Facebook to create your archive. After the archive is completed, you may be informed on Facebook or you can directly visit the page again.

5. If your archive has been created, enter the password and download the archive.


Backing up your Facebook data gives you all the photos and videos you have uploaded. Your wall posts, chat messages and other messages are also included. The name of all your friends with their email addresses(if allowed by them in their privacy settings) is included.
It takes around an hour for Facebook to archive your data (in my case also it took around 1 hour). You may not get informed by email even though Facebook says it (Also,I never receive an Email after backup completion). In the end, data export is a very useful feature offered by Facebook and specially when Facebook timeline profile will be globally launched, people will be able to create a complete timeline of their life, I’m sure this backup feature will be more handy.

10 Tips to Sell Your Website or Blog on flippa.com

If you are planning to buy or sell a website, you probably already heard about flippa.com. It’s the largest online marketplace for websites. Most people who list a website for sale there, however, end up selling it for peanuts (e.g., $100), or not selling at all.

How come? Most of the times the seller didn’t do his homework. If you want to maximize your chances of selling (and your profit), the 10 tips below will help you.

1. Make Sure Your Website Is Making Money

This is the most important factor. If you want to sell a website successfully, it must be making money. Even if your site has a huge traffic, listing it before monetizing that traffic would be a bad decision. You would be able to sell it, but the money you would get would be far below the real value of the site.

If your website is making $50 or less per month, forget about selling it now. Try to improve your traffic, increase your revenues to at least $300 per month, make the revenues stable, and then list it. If the $300 are coming from Google AdSense, for example, you could sell the site for as much as $10,000. Obviously, the more you can grow your revenue before selling, the better. The $300 is just a ball park figure.

Remember that you’ll need to show proof of revenue, and that most buyers will calculate the revenues as the average of the past four or six months. 

2. Make Sure You Have Google Analytics Data

Most serious buyers will want to see your Google Analytics data before making an official offer. They will use this to verify your traffic levels, and to make sure the pattern is compatible with the revenues you are claiming.

Again, people will want to see data going back to six months at least. If you are planning to sell your website, therefore, it would be wise to install Google Analytics on it at least six months before the sale. 

3. Work On Your Trust Rating

Each member on Flippa has a trust rating, and most buyers will check it before placing their bids. In other words, the higher your trust rating, the higher the chances of selling your website.

As a result you should take all the actions that will improve your trust rating (e.g., connect your Flippa account with Facebook and LinkedIn, verify your phone number and so on). 

4. Set The Auction Length for 7 Days

In my opinion seven days is the optimal length for an auction on Flippa. With that length of time you are sure that most buyers will see your auction (e.g., those who log during the week and those who log during weekends), yet you’ll create a sense of urgency on those who are interested.

Many people set the auction length for 30 days, and their auctions become dead as a consequence. Many interested buyers will refrain from bidding because there is plenty of time to go, others yet will see the auction once and then completely forget about it, for the same reason. 

5. Set A Low Reserve / High Minimum Bid

If you set a low reserve price your auction will display the following message: “Bidding open and reserve has been met!” bright green color. This is a big encouragement for potential buyers, and it stimulates them to bid.

And don’t worry about the site selling for less than what you think it is worth. You can always set a high minimum bid. Apart from protecting you from low bids this strategy will also filter the non-serious buyers out. 

6. Set A Reasonable BIN Price

The “Buy It Now” price is there for a reason. It should allow a buyer who is very interested in your website to avoid a bidding war and to buy the website paying what you think it is worth.

The problem is that most sellers have an unrealistic idea about the value of their websites, and hence they set crazy BIN prices. This is a put off for potential buyers, because it signals you have no idea about what you are doing.

Ask some friends what they think your website is worth, and then set a reasonable BIN price for it. 

7. Don’t Hype Your Description

The more hype you put in your description, the more people will think you are desperate to sell and that your website is not a solid one. Examples of remarks you should avoid include: “Huge potential!”, “A lifetime opportunity!”, “My loss is your gain!”.

Secondly, don’t hypothesize what the website could be earning. Some people list websites that are making $10 per month currently, and they go on saying: “This website has the potential to make $4,000 per month easily!”. If you knew this for sure you wouldn’t be selling the site for such a low price….

8. Answer to Every Comment

Even if you write a crystal clear description people will still have questions, and they’ll ask them through the comment section. It is important to answer to every single comment, as this will not only encourage these commenters to place a bid, but it will also improve the overall credibility of your auction.

Second, do not delete a comment unless you have a very good reason to do so. Deleted comments are red flags on Flippa, because usually they come from sellers trying to hide something on their websites. 

9. Have A Plausible Reason for Selling

One of the first things people will ask you is why you are selling. If there is no plausible reason, they’ll rightly assume that the website is going down hill, and that you want to get rid of it before it becomes worthless.

In fact it would be a good idea to include the reason for selling the description of the auction itself. 

10. Invite Qualified Buyers

If you want to get more bids on your auction, you can invite qualified buyers directly. First of all browse through the marketplace looking for websites that are similar to yours (either open or won auctions).
